Prayer from Psalm 36: You Are Different

colors

Lord, I live in the midst of great contrast.

On one side there are the problem-people.

On the other side there is you.

I’ve measured their love.  It’s as tall as shag carpet.

But yours reaches to the stars.

I’ve measured their faithfulness  It’s as high as freshly mowed grass.

But yours extends to the clouds.

I’ve measured their right treatment of others.  It’s as big as an ant hill.

But yours is as big as Mount Everest.

They treat me terribly.  They treat others even worse.

But you are a refuge for us all.  And you will put an end to them.
