God’s Letters from Philippi #14

DAY FOURTEEN: Tuesday
14 Do all things without grumbling or disputing,
15 that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,
16 holding fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain. (Phil. 2:14-16 ESV)

My beloved,

You were made to matter. You were created to contribute. You have a purpose larger than you can imagine. A mission greater than you can fathom.

I want you to burn so brightly they can see you from outer space. I want darkness to scream like a little girl when it sees you coming. I’m calling on you to be the beacon leading others to safety during the storm. I’m charging you to be the fire bringing life back into the frozen hearts of others. Hope to the hopeless. Help to the hurting. That’s what’s on your agenda today.

But while the mission is extraordinary, the means are not. They are far more average than you might imagine. Ready? Here they are:
Don’t fight. Get along. Play nice. Make peace.
Don’t complain. Stop being the critic. Be positive. Say nice things.
And hold fast to my word. Read it. Do it. And encourage others to do the same.

These are the little things that allow you to have a large impact. These are the small steps that lead you down the path of greatness.

So don’t settle for mediocrity today. Live a life the matters.

Let there be light.

With love,

Father
